Spent a few hours fishing a pond / small lake in Ontario, New York. This is a small lake, about a mile long, and 25-50 yards across. It is a man-made lake, made by mining iron in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. There is an article on some of the history or iron ore mining in the area here: Iron ore mining made town of Ontario
In this case, the mining left a very pretty, small lake – with no development around it, and full of small bass.
For a more detailed fishing report, with lures used, etc, see my writeup in the discussion forums, here.
