My last kayak was a Perception Striker 11.5. I loved fishing from this kayak – it was an extremely sturdy kayak that I was able to stand up in while I fished.
In the end, it was the weight of it that drove me to replace it. It had an initial weight around 70 lbs – and, I am convinced it got heavier over the 7 years I had it (outside chance that I got older too). The weight made it solid, but also made it a chore to load on top of my car. Add any light wind, and it required a Herculean effort on my part to lift it over my head and set it on my car-top cradles.
I miss her, but my new Kayak is sooo much easier to move around.
