Spent several hours fishing from the pier that starts at the boat launch in Fair Haven State Park, and extends along Little Sodus Bay, and out into Lake Ontario.
We tried fishing into the lake, but had no bites. Also tried fishing in the channel going into the lake, also with no bites. Finally we started fishing from the pier, into the very north end of Little Sodus Bay, and caught some fish.
All of the fish caught were on vertical presentations – meaning something that sinks down. We caught fish on wacky rig worms, tubes, and weightless creature baits – mostly on the initial descent after casting into the bay as far as we could from the pier. Not a ton of fish, but the fish we caught were all fun, and definitely better than going to work.
